Referee Recertification

All referees must renew their US Soccer Referee License annually in order to be assigned games at BASA.

Referee certifications expire on December 31 each year. Referees may not be assigned games for the upcoming season until recertification is complete.

Spring assignments begin early, so we strongly recommend completing recertification as soon as the course becomes available.

Recertification Requirements

Annual recertification is:

💻 100% online

🕒 Self-paced and can be completed anytime

🏟️ No field sessions required

The course is completed through the US Soccer Learning Center.

Important Reminder

If your certification has expired, you will not be eligible to receive assignments until your license is renewed.

Keeping your certification current ensures you:

  • Remain eligible for BASA assignments
  • Maintain priority for game scheduling
  • Qualify for BASA referee incentive programs

Referee Incentive Program

BASA supports its referees through an annual incentive program designed to help offset recertification costs.

Referees who meet recreational game thresholds during the year may qualify for incentive payments issued in December.
