Become a Referee

Refereeing is a great way to stay involved in soccer, earn money, and develop leadership skills. BASA welcomes individuals age 13 and older to become certified referees.

Certification Requirements

Anyone age 13 or older can become a certified referee through the Michigan State Referee Committee.

Certified referees:

  • Receive priority for game assignments
  • May officiate games across multiple age groups
  • Are eligible for BASA incentive programs

Work Games at BASA

Once certified, referees may register to officiate BASA Recreational and Select and Premier level games.

Make sure to inform the BASA assignor that you are certified and would like to be assigned games at BASA by emailing basaassignor@gmail.com.
